Joe Dulay and and other FAT Nor-Cal members put on a charity event Group Ride to raise donations to send to victims of Typhoon Sendong. The event was a success: a perfect day with perfect weather, a great route, beautiful bikes and a ton of donations!!!!
They had a huge outpouring of support from the Fil-Am Bay area community! There was close to a total of 60 riders consisting of Roadies, Fixies, MTB, Tandems and TT bikes with a handful of spectators and volunteers supporting the cause, not to mention the motorcycle club that showed up with some donations too! People showed up as far as American Canyon, about 25 miles away from where they held the event! The event generated so much interest that complete strangers walking by decided to donate whatever used clothes they had in their cars, to whatever cash they had in their wallets. FAT was able to fill up 15 balikbayan boxes full of canned goodies, toys, clothes and shoes. Even the local Starbucks in Newark, CA decided to join in and donate a box of coffee beans to the flood victims. FAT really appreciates all the support and donations!
If you would like to be included in future events and training sessions, please contact Joe Dulay (pangit408@yahoo.com) and he will add you to the FIL-AM TRI page. If you have any feedback or questions from this event, please send him a message and he will address any of your concerns.
