MAY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT--TROY AVERGONZADO

FAT is honored to recognize Troy Avergonzado, a fellow triathlete who started competing in late 2008. While he does not have any specific athletic history, Troy brings the passion, focus and dedication to the sport as if he’s been doing it all his life. After completing his first Triathlon he said he caught that pesty Tri Bug every FAT keeps talking about! Here’s to being affected by it!

Troy’s history with FAT started when Cerrone Dayo introduced him to the team. He’s hoping to meet more fellow FAT this year at Ironman 70.3 Floriday, Escape from Alcatraz Tri and Ironman 70.3 Racine, to name a few. Come on out and support!

Troy’s best race was in 2011, the Ironman Louisville. He beat his goal and had fun at the same time! Always a great combo on race day. He had total control of his race and to this date he is still amazed at how he rode his first 112 mile ride and first marathon in the brutal heat. Cheers to that!

When Troy’s cortisol level is too high, he is in his music room rocking out on the drums. He manages to go to a few rock concerts when his triathlon schedule permits. He also is a huge Formula 1 fan. A great coincidence that he met a few F1 drivers who are incorporating triathlons into their fitness programs

This year Troy will be racing and fundraising under team Livestrong @ 70.3 Florida for his breast cancer free wife. She is his inspiration and taught him how to live again. He has become passionate with helping his family and friends get into the fitness world. It is truly an honor for him to be an inspiration to them! He wishes all the best of luck to his wife and all his friends doing their first triathlons and many more!
